CANNING CITY CENTRE POP-UP TOWN SQUARE

About the Project: The project sought to assist in the activation of the town centre and was located on one of the then many vacant lots along Cecil Ave, Cannington, the main spine through the Canning City Centre.

The site was to provide a temporary alternative location for people to eat & socialise where there would be a rotation of vendors at the site for people to experience. Its other purpose was to provide another form of connection between the public and the City of Canning where people could learn about the proposed developments, future built form, proposed public space upgrades and regeneration within the centre of Cannington, rather than by visiting the City’s administration or reading the local community paper.

A temporary pop-up square was built, although it took a different form and size following the project being led by a different internal team.

Proposed: March 2015
